Release Day Blitz: I need You by Cynthia O'Neill

I NEED YOU TOO by Cynthia P. O'Neill
Series: Need #4
Genre: Erotic Contemporary Romance
- SYNOPSIS -
Ethan McDonald had everything he wanted in life until one jerk’s misconceptions caused him to be in an accident - inadvertently taking another’s life and nearly costing him his own. Months later he woke from a coma to find how much things had changed. He found forgiveness from the victim’s family, but could he find absolution from her husband and more importantly – himself.

It took months for him to integrate back into society. His friend, Nate, helped him refocus his life with the need for assistance in catching the culprit behind all the accounting mistakes at work. In turn, he was welcomed into Prescott International, as the new lead in IT. He’d gained favor from the family, especially from a certain lady…

Marjorie (Prescott) Bentley had finally succeeded in divorcing her husband and making her way back to her family and the company business. She’d been into the BDSM scene, but her ex, a wannabe Dom, nearly destroyed her, wanting her only for her wealth. She’d put on a friendly face to everyone, but internally she was trying to overcome the nightmares and struggles to find her way back to her old life, with her need to submit, her need for him…

Ethan and Marjorie saw through each other’s masquerades and found support with one another. But could they both let go of the nightmares of their pasts and move forward together? Could they both learn to heal, surrendering to one another, and their darkest desires?

She needed him, but he needed her Too!

NOTE: This is a Complete Novel. No cliffhanger. Dual POV. Rated 18+ due to adult language and sexual content. This is an adult contemporary erotic romance filled with suspense, light BDSM, Dom/sub play, and touching on some psychological elements. This series centers around the Prescott family, their friends, and businesses. It includes unsavory characters, a horrid ex-husband, and a security team that will go to any lengths to protect this family. These are stand alone books that create the series, but they do not need to be read in order. The story is more enhanced if read in order.

He leaned to the side, putting most of his weight on one arm while the other pushed a few strands of hair away from the side of my face.  “I love you and want to care for you.”   His hand traveled up to touch the inside of my wrist.  “These scars were made from him, not me.  I’ll never bind you with rope, handcuffs, or anything that could cause damage to your perfect skin.  How someone could do this so callously is beyond me?”
My panic began to subside, and I felt myself relax.
His eyes were warm, his hands tender caresses to my skin, as he asked, “Can you trust me?”
I didn’t have to think long about my answer.  “You’re the first man I’ve been able to trust since my divorce.  The only one I’d trust with my soul.”
His eyes sparkled as he leaned down and kissed me gently, “I trust you with mine as well.  If I didn’t, I wouldn’t have let you go ballistic on my ass with that flogger.”  He quirked a lopsided smile that melted my heart.  At that moment, I didn’t know where this crazy ride we were on was leading, but I knew I wanted it to be with him.
I felt remorseful about earlier.  “I can’t express how sorry I am about…”
His finger came up to silence me as he shook his head.  “It’s done.  It’s over with.  We’ll never make mention of it again.  Tonight is all about you.  I want your complete surrender to me.  I want to keep your arms bound with a silk scarf and your eyes focused on mine.  I want you to know that I’m the one in charge.  It’s my face you’ll associate with pleasure, pulling every possible orgasm out of this body that I can, leaving you spent and craving more.  What do you say, love?”
“Yes, my love.  Yes, Sir.”
His lips crushed mine as his hands circled underneath my shoulders, pulling me onto him even harder.  He’d finally released my lips, leaning over me saying, “Eyes on me, darling.  I want you to know how perfect we are together.  I’m the one bringing you this pleasure and no one else.  Your mine, Marjorie!  Say it, love.”
The love and intensity in his eyes held me captive.  I felt our souls and body connect on a level I’d never encountered.  I couldn’t tell where either of us began or ended.  The sensations building inside of me were different than before.  His movements were sweet, gentle, yet claiming all at once.
“Your mine now, Marjorie.  Come for me, love.  Be one with me, now.”  His words were a beacon of light to me, freeing me from the dark confines of my past, knowing that with him I could finally open myself up to new things and allow him to guide me.  I knew with Ethan, I’d be safe.
I cried as my muscles locked down on him, sending electrical waves of current throughout my entire body.  His lips sealed over mine, absorbing my cries of passion while he pumped into me one last time. Feeling the intensity of his release, I wrapped my legs tightly around his waist not wanting him to separate from me.
Fireworks continued to go off behind my eyes, for what seemed like an eternity.  Our breath was nearly spent. He finally broke off our kiss and collapsed into my neck.  “My god, I love you, woman.  I’m addicted to every part of you.”
I felt my body relax onto the sheets, not caring anymore that my wrists were bound together and over my head.  All I felt was utter peace and tranquility.  I let out a ragged breath, “I love you too.    I’m completely captivated by your mind, body, and soul.”

Tardon choked down his grief. To stand as a criminal before the people he once protected was the only way to save Arianna. The people worshiped him, maybe even more than the Elders did.
Saldor narrowed his gaze. “I have assured the Elders that you will not make a spectacle. You will come without incident or Arianna will suffer the consequences.”
Tardon pushed from the floor. Once out of the cell, he straightened and stretched the stiffness from his back. Maybe death would bring peace. As he shuffled to the courtyard above he knew the transition to the next life would be painful, but the afterlife did not frighten him.
They exited the tunnels and, even with the overcast skies, he still shielded his eyes from the sun, the brightness a stark contrast to the darkness of the dungeon.
Voices echoed down the cobblestone path that led to center court. When he reached the opening, all the inhabitants of the kingdom’s eyes were on him.
Many chanted his name. A dirty-faced woman tried to touch him.
Shouts erupted.
“Burn the woman!”
“She’s a witch!”
Hatred spread faster than death fever through the crowd. How quickly the people betrayed a woman who had protected their families from evil beyond the walls.
Shouts continued from the nameless, faceless crowd. Guards guided Tardon through the mass of people and he stepped onto the center block where most sentences were carried out. He opened his mouth and the crowd fell silent in respect. As he stood there, needing to speak, burning to speak, no words flowed.
The inhabitants of the castle looked at him, waiting for his declaration of Arianna’s magical seduction. Arianna needs you. With a cough, he cleared his throat and raised his chin. “I speak to you today to clarify events, to answer the charges against myself and my fellow warrior, Arianna.”
“Send her to the fires!”
“She must burn!”
Tardon raised his bound hands to quiet the crowd, and he noticed fellow warriors lining the back wall. They stood with hard, blank stares as well-trained warriors should. His biceps strained as he pulled at the chains between his wrists. “I pray you, listen to my words. Arianna is a warrior and possesses no skills as a witch.”
“He lies,” a man’s voice carried from deep within the crowd.
“She still has him under her spell,” a woman shrieked.
No! It was not Arianna who betrayed the Elders’ laws, but me.”
A hushed mumbling overtook the peasants, shopkeepers, and warriors. The ones Tardon had protected now stood in judgment over him.
“I…I confess to forcing myself on the innocent warrior Arianna.” Tardon choked on her name. The chains rattled but he steadied his shaking hands despite his longing to end this farce. Never had he witnessed so many faces contort in disgust at him. He’d been a person that others desired and idolized. Now he stood as a traitor to his people and a monstrous enemy to women.
“Burn him!”
Tardon sucked a welcomed breath into his stale lungs. It worked. They believed him, Arianna would be spared.
“Burn them both!”
“Yes, burn them both! Neither is innocent.”
“Bring the woman out!” one voice rang loud. Then the words spread like fleas on a donkey, and the crowd chanted, “Burn them both! Burn them both!
His gut twisted with grief. “No! I am to blame. Why do you not listen?” The chains clanked as he pushed toward the crowd.
Arianna appeared at the edge of the court in torn and dirty clothes, but at least they’d clothed her decently in a peasant dress. The Enforcer that had discovered them grabbed her now short hair and dragged her to the front. Tardon spotted raw, red swelling on her cheek and temple. Someone had struck her.
A desire to kill whoever had hurt her burned to the surface of his skin. Cracks sounded as he strained against the iron shackles. The guard next to him stepped back to summon reinforcements.
“Burn ’em both! Burn the warriors! They take our food and live like Gods while we starve!”
“More food fer us,” a tangle-haired woman called from below.
Tardon’s shoulder burned as he continued to fight against the shackles. “Warriors, take notice. These are the people we die protecting.”
Warriors stepped forward in defense against flying insults, but the Elders stood on the tower, motioning the fighters to remain at their positions. Tardon observed the other warriors’ disgust, but all he cared about was Arianna being pushed and shoved like a disobedient servant.
Arianna smiled at him as she stumbled up the wooden steps. No time for remorse at defying the Elders’ laws, the people called for blood, and they would both burn in the fires now.
Tardon shuffled to Arianna, knocking a guard out of the way.
Arianna lifted her bound wrists over him and let the chains fall down his back. “If we are to burn, let us give them a reason.” Her eyebrows rose, and a soft smile curved her lips before she opened them and pressed herself against him, her sweet mouth opening against his.
Screams of shock rang out from below, but Tardon ceased to worry about being branded a traitor and gave in to his passion, hoping it would follow him to the next life. The world spun and the screams diminished into a distant lull, while the sweet, berry taste of Arianna urged the passion inside him. Every hair on his body stood to attention. His hands roamed down her hips and squeezed them close to his. Their heartbeat became one pounding rhythm, echoing through their souls.
Hands wrapped around his bicep and throat to rip him away. Her chains pulled hair from his scalp as they raked across his head.
“Burn ’em, burn ’em now!” The chanting shattered his dream state as they were dragged from the town square to the inner fires.
He fought as they maneuvered the tiny cobblestone walkways, leaving a line of disabled guards in his wake. Warriors were ordered by the Elders to subdue him.
The group rounded the corner, bringing the wooden post of the Fire Pit into view. At least Arianna and I will die together. Warriors, his former friends, bound him to the wood.
“May the Elders forgive you in the next life.” The mumble came from his comrades while they removed his chains and tied his wrists together behind him.
Arianna’s soft hand found his and they interlaced their fingers.
An Apprentice shouted from the tower, “May this be a lesson to all who defy the Elders.”
Tardon’s pulse thudded and he squeezed his sweaty palm against Arianna’s. Fear threatened to take hold as he imagined Arianna suffering. Desperate, he addressed the crowd one last time. “She is innocent. Her blood will be on your hands if you do this.”
A guard approached with torch in hand and held it in the air, waiting for the Apprentice to give the order. Heat radiated from the orange flames dancing at the end of the stick.
Tardon held his breath, hoping the Elders would spare Arianna, but the Apprentice’s arm lowered and the guard stepped up to light the fire.
Smoke attacked Tardon’s lungs. Unable to shout his protests any longer, he tried to turn his head to see Arianna behind him. Even over the smoldering debris, he detected her unique scent. “I am sorry I brought this upon you. Die knowing this was not of your doing.” His lungs seized with a cough as the debris below the wood smoked, and his head dropped to his chest. “I failed you.”
The orange and yellow glow spread and crept out from below the wood. Arianna moaned from behind, and he stomped his feet rapidly to find relief from the burning.
His mind reeled, searching for a way to save her. As the flames grew and danced against the wood, he realized he was unable to save the most important person in his life.
Today, they would both die.

AUTHOR BIO:
I'm Jacqueline Garlick, author of young adult and new adult fiction. I love strong heroines, despise whiny sidekicks, and adore a good story about a triumphant underdog. (Don't you?)
I love to read, write, paint (walls and paper). I have a love/hate relationship with chocolate, grammar, and technology and would rather hang out with a dog, than a cat. I prefer creating things to cleaning things, and believe laughter is a one-stop-shop solution to all that ails you. You will always find a purple wall (or two) in my house (currently in my writing room), and there may or may not be a hidden passageway that leads to a mystery room. (Okay, so you won't find a hidden passageway, but a girl can dream, can't she?) Oh, and tea. There will always be tea.

My writing style has been described as edgy and rule-breaking, and by some--a touch Tim Burton-esque. Because of this, I am often referred to as the Quentin Tarantino of YA among writing friends.

In my former life, I was a teacher (both grade school and college-don't ask), but more recently I've been a graduate of Ellen Hopkin's Nevada Mentor Program and a student of James Scott Bell, Christopher Vogler and Don Maass. Blog Tour: Rescued by Phoebe Rose

Rescued by Phoebe Rose
(Alley Kitten #1)
Publication date: November 10th 2015
Genres: New Adult, Romance

Synopsis:
Twenty-three year old startup founder Thomas York has no time for dating. And even less time to to  deal with the litter of (adorable) stray kittens who’ve claimed his patio as their new home. But when Tessa — a passionate animal rescue volunteer — shows up to help, even Thomas can’t deny the mad attraction between them.
A born nurturer, Tessa Cantalupe’s used to caring for everyone but herself. Time and again she falls for guys who shred her soul. Will Thomas be yet another scar on Tessa’s heart, or is there a good guy underneath all the bluster and ambition? And will she dare to let him rescue her?

Review:

Thomas is a business man who doesn't have time for relationships or the stray kittens that are using his patio as their new home. He has been betrayed by people he loved, leaving him to pack up and make a fresh start in Seattle while he didn't expect that fresh start to include meeting someone like Tessa. He has a big personality, he's confident and enthusiastic.

Tessa is the animal rescuer that has to come to help Thomas take care of the kittens. She has had bad relationships in the past and gives too much, but gets nothing in return. She is very vulnerable and closed herself off to men. She also has a big heart which causes her to get hurt like it is on replay.

Will these two get together and find love? Or will they just go their separate ways?

This was a great story!  I really liked it and I look forward to reading more work from this author. I truly hope you like this story as much as I did.

I groan as I open the car door and pull my body to standing. I rub my eyes, so happy I ditched the contacts and shake out my legs before going to the trunk to pull out my go-bag. Every vehicle I own (even the boat and four-wheelers) has a small duffel bag stashed somewhere in them. They contain cash, clothes, one day of rations (beef jerky and a flask of Jameson, don’t give me too much credit), and a new identity.

The identity I probably won’t need just yet, but I do need the set of clothes. My suit jacket was lost to some poor male patron with a gut shot, and my pants and shirt are ruined by some lady’s blood and the remnants of what I did to Thad during his interrogation. I feel guilty for not using the Morganite knife and killing him for real since I know he’ll heal in the next couple of days. My only solace is that it will take a few days to regrow his whole fucking head.

Dick.

I knew I shouldn’t have gone to my stupid exhibit. I swear it’s the last time I let Evan talk me into anything.

I mean it this time.

Rhys has been quiet most of the drive, and it’s a blessing because I have no idea what to say to him. But it’s a curse as well due to the barbed guilt running through my veins. I’ve spent little time with him that hasn’t included me trying to rip him limb from limb, so a conversation might be impossible. I’m also a little disturbed having him so close hasn’t been the hardship I thought it would be. He’s been quiet, considerate, and he pumped the gas when we stopped because me getting out of the car would have caused a stir.

We both get out of the car and walk to the trunk, which I’ve popped with the key fob.

“You want me to carry that?” he asks, chivalrously reaching past me to lift my duffel out of the trunk. The bastard. I really wish he’d cooperate and be an asshole so I could hate him appropriately. I grind my teeth together in an attempt to avoid screaming and give a jerky nod, letting him take the bag. It takes some effort, but I gently close my trunk, careful not to hurt my baby even though I want to smash something.

I stride towards the front door behind Rhys, vigilantly trying not to stomp my feet and pout like a Goddamn toddler. My anger only grows when I notice how fucking spectacular he looks in a suit. Holy shit balls. He’s easily six foot three, maybe taller. I’m five-three on a good day, so he’s at least an entire foot taller than me. The crisp dark charcoal gray suit emphasizes the wideness of his shoulders and the line of his body as it flows from his strong neck to his lean waist and tight ass. People I hate are not supposed to be this fucking hot in a suit.
