However, on only her second night there she gets lost and is threatened by a stalker who proves to be immune to her martial arts training. Before she is completely overpowered, she is then saved by Ethan Deveroux.
While Danielle does find the romance she seeks in Ethan, he’s no Mr. Darcy. Her hero is held by a spell which fractures their chance at a happy ending. During the day Ethan is closer to mortal than immortal and can date her like any other man. Yet, as the sun sets, the powerful magic of an ancient curse returns and the evil of that spell is revealed. The Fateful Trilogy continues with Fractured. No, it’s not called Fractured because Ethan and Danielle break up...in case you were wondering.
They had thought they’d escaped most of the danger surrounding them, when in truth they’ve made it worse by unintentionally sparking a civil war amongst vampires. Many vampires want to protect them for discovering the cure to the curse binding their kind. However many more want to destroy them for that same discovery.
Ethan’s and Danielle’s struggle for survival intensifies while they sink deeper into the midst of this danger. The romantic fairytale bliss they once had will soon fracture under the pressure of the curse....

On the run trying to escape a gaggle of evil pixies, a clan of creepy werewolves, a coven or two of wicked witches, and a school of lovely but malicious mermaids, they fight to have a normal life. But that isn't so easy when the only aid they have is from slightly dishonest fairies and flirtatious vampire bodyguards.
This is Danielle and Ethan's happily forever after....
Note from the author: The Fateful Trilogy was Danielle and Ethan’s story, and Forever is the last book in their tale, but this is not the last book in the Fateful Series! I don’t like to clutter up my stories with too much info about side characters, especially when it doesn’t carry along the plot for the two main characters. Even so, my side characters will get the chance to tell you their stories as well! Up next are Max and Nadia’s story, and a real cookbook brought to you by Sophia. There are several more books planned in the “Fateful” world, so please stay tuned....

Review:
The Fateful series by Cheri A Schmidt has a different and refreshing take on vampires. I like how the vampires are put together and describes. They are more human during the day and more of a bloodthirsty vampire by night.
Danielle is the main character and the one the books follow. This character is such a huge fan of Jane Austen that she herself is Jane Austen to a "T"! Danielle is a huge girly girl, but she took Karate since her parents made her to make her "stronger". She is a very complex character, but at the same time simple and easy to understand. One thing Danielle wanted when she moved to England was to meet her Mr. Darcy and she does...
Ethan (Danielle's Mr. Darcy) was a true gentleman despite the centuries he has lived through. His jealous and possessiveness come off as sweet and funny considering he can use a sword, and treat a girl like a lady. When these two met, it was like they both already knew they were in love.
I really enjoyed the fact this book had morals. Most books you read, the couple would sleep together after a little bit, but these two waited until marriage which is what both of them wanted. Ethan wanted this because of his centuries old age and Danielle wanted it because it meant something more to her. They took on present day issues along with paranormal ones. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to get into paranormal romances or is a Jane Austen fan. Of course anyone else would love this series as well.

Cheri lives in Virginia with her husband, her four daughters, and two Pomeranians. She’s a lover of words, and a lover of reading books. As long as there is a lot of romance in the story, she enjoys many different genres. She’s an artist, and a photographer. She’s actually created many of the paintings described in her books. She also loves to cook, and is quite well known for her amazing fairy cakes. Her recipes are available via Sophia’s Messy Kitchen, and a cookbook companion to the Fateful series entitled Sophia’s Cookbook for Mortals.
She has always had an interest in fairies, mermaids, vampires, witches, and, in truth, just about any type of fantasy or myth. When she was young, she spent a lot of time drawing these beings and has since sold paintings of them on eBay. As computer technology advanced, she began digitally enhancing photographs into those magical creatures as well. These artistic skills of her past have helped her design her own book covers.
When stories of these fictional beings continued to entertain her thoughts, to the point of almost haunting her, she decided it was time to start writing them down instead of just drawing them. FATEFUL is her first finished work, although other stories had come to her before that. She has several other books in the plans, and will say that her head is a very crowded place. She will also tell you that if you do not like glittering fairies, hot vampires with British accents, knights in shining armor, the dashing Mr. Darcy, girly-girls who wear skirts, or large amounts of snogging, then perhaps her stories are not for you.
