Review:

Wow! This book was an awesome second to the series! I am completely in love with Ana and Jackson and I was heartbroken at the end of the first book! I just can’t get enough of the two of them.

The book leaves off four months later with Ana just returning to Chastity Falls for her Sophomore year, but she is trying to hold herself together after losing Jackson and then going back to the one place she doesn’t want to be with all those memories coming back to life. Ana is in a bad place after the break up and seeing Jackson around campus had only made it much more worse. In this book we see a lot of sadness, and hurt from Ana. We also learned that she is on the verge of her breaking point going back to cutting herself to make the pain stop.

Paul is a great guy and throughout everything he is there for Ana when she is at her weakest and breaking point. He also looks out for her. Ana and Paul do kiss when Ana is drunk, but Paul noticed that it wasn’t him she wanted but Jackson. Even Paul made the comment “You are in love with him, aren’t you?”.  I secretly wanted the both of them to date to make Jackson jealous, but then I knew in my mind Paul would only get hurt and it would ruin their friendship.

And then there is Jackson. He is still in love with Ana, but he tries to tell himself this is the right thing for the both of them so that they can stay safe. He thought he had already choose his family or Ana, but he really hasn’t, well at least not yet… Jackson knows he must protect Ana at any cost. He follows her around to make sure Ana is alright, but he makes sure she never notices him.

Elena does some digging into the Donohue’s and their business. This is when we really learn how dangerous they truly are and the shocking reveal leaves you shocked and stunned.

Of course there are many twists and turns in the second book in the series. There is so much tension between everyone in this book and you can feel it through the writing. There were a few times when I wanted to yell at Jackson and even at Ana! They both wanted to be with one another but they didn’t want to fight for it and that made me angry. I still loved the book and look forward to the third book in the series!

Rating: 5/5
